Prerequisite: Buttercream Basics
Originally, cake pops were seen mostly in the south and were nothing more than cake crumbs mixed with thinned icing and then dipped in chocolate. These were served at teas, showers, and other such occasions. Today,
cake pops are so much more and can be decorated in any theme and are even served at weddings.
The following will be covered in this class:
Preparing your cake crumbs and icing for cake pops.
Mixing crumbs and icing together and rolling into a ball shape.
Dipping a cake ball in chocolate and adding simple decorations.
How to attach cake balls to sticks to make cake pops.
We will then focus on a variety of decorating ideas including some seasonal.
You will receive all recipes and directions used in the class and go home with a box of
cake pops you've decorated yourself.
Supplies: We will provide instruction materials, and you'll be able to use your tools (included with class) as well as classroom supplies, to decorate your
cookies. You may wish to bring an apron to protect your clothing.
This is a 1.5 hour class per session.
